Setting up your Flea Market Booth/Table1. Plan for the worst at outdoor markets. Bring a large plastic covers to protect your items, as well as clips that will hold the plastic cover securely to the table in case of wind. 2. Bring enough merchandise to last you through the entire sale. 3. If you accept credit cards, then you should make a sign saying so. You might also want to consider signs with your web site’s address and your business cards. Some states also require that you display your business license, even at flea markets. 4. Some of Fresco’s jewelry customers who sell at Flea markets recommend wearing the jewelry you are selling and/or putting up a blouse or sweater to show off necklaces. 5. Use display racks, either purchased from Fresco’s or made by your favorite handy-person. Eye-level products are the first noticed. 6. For jewelry, use either white or black display materials. 7. Give yourself plenty of time to set your table up before the market opens. You can cut down on set up time by labeling your merchandise, display materials, etc. in the boxes you bring to the show. 8. Choose a wrinkle-free fabric for your table cover that is large enough to cover your table all the way to the floor. It’s more attractive and it will give you a good place to store boxes out of view. 9. Dress casually, but nice and practice good grooming. 10. Photographing your booth when it is complete is a good way to make a record for your scrap book and to self-critique at a later point. 11.
